Outlook Express 5.0 News NNRP

Here are some quick instructions on how to configure Outlook for NNRP authentication ("logging in" to the news server).

• First, open Outlook Express, then click on the Tools menu and choose Accounts.
  
  
  
  
• Click on the News tab. Select the appropriate news account, then click Properties.
  
  
• Click on the Server Tab.
  
  
  
  
• Put a check in the This server requires me to log on box, UNLESS you are a NeoSoft customer, since NeoSoft customers do not "log in" to the news server.
• In the Account Name box type your username. If you are a PDQ customer, you must type your username as username@ia-pdq instead of just your username.
• In the Password box, type your password.
• Click OK to close this window. Click Close at the Account Properties window to get back to the main Outlook window.

Outlook is now setup to perform NNRP authentication!
