Authentication

If you attempt to connection to the Internet America, PDQ, or NeoSoft news server when you are not dialed in to Internet America, PDQ, or NeoSoft, the server will be unable to recognize you as a user. If you are not recognized, you will be denied access

The solution to this is called NNRP Authentication. It allows you to "log in" to the news server, much like when you check your email. You will pass your username and password to the news server when you try to connect. By using the information, the news server will be able to recognize you as a valid user and allow you access.

Click here for instructions on setting up NNRP authentication.
