Exposing Message Headers in Internet Mail

New Email
  • When the messages comes into your Inbox, it will normally just show the basic headers, such as the sender, subject, date, and recipient. Double-click on the message to open it in a new window.

    File Menu

  • In order to see ALL of the message header (which is needed by our Policy Enforcement Department), click on the File menu, then choose Properties.
  • Click on the Details tab.

    Exposed Headers

  • In this box, you should see the raw message header. This is the information that our Policy Enforcement Department needs to track down the sender. At this point, you can highlight the message headers using the mouse (click and hold the left mouse button at the start of the headers and drag the cursor over the message). Once the message is highlighted, right click on the highlighted text, then choose Copy from the popup menu. This will copy the text to the clipboard.
  • At this point, compose a new message as you normally do to abuse@airmail.net. Right click in the message body, then choose Paste from the popup menu. This should place the contents you previously copied into your new message. You will also need to copy the original message itself in addition to the message headers. You can do so in the same manner in which you copied the headers.
  • Send the message off and our Policy Enforcement Department will do the rest!
