Outlook 2007

Before you begin, you will need the following information:

  1. Open Outlook 2007.
  1. Click the 'Tools' menu, and select 'Account Settings' (Example 1.1).

Add a New E-mail Account

  1. Click on the 'Email' tab and click on the 'New' button (Example 1.2).

Choose E-mail Service

  1. Next select 'Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP or HTTP' and click 'Next' (Example 1.3).

Auto Account Setup

  1. On the Auto Account Setup window (Example 1.4) check the 'Manually configure server settings or additional server types' and click 'Next'.

  1. Select 'Internet E-mail' option and click 'Next' (Example 1.5).

  1. The Internet E-mail Settings screen appears (Example 1.6):
  • Enter 'Your Name' as you want it to appear.
  • Enter your full E-mail Address in the E-mail Address field.
  • Select 'POP3' or 'IMAP'
  • Enter your Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP) Server
  • Enter your Outgoing mail (SMTP) Server
  • Enter your full E-mail Address in the Account name field.
  • Enter your E-mail Password in the password field

More Settings

  1. Click on More Settings... (Example 1.7).
  • Click on the 'Outgoing Server' tab.
  • Check 'My outgoing server (SMTP) Requires Authentication'
  • Make sure 'Use same setting as my incoming mail server' is also checked.
  • Click on 'OK'

Test Account Settings

  1. It is HIGHLY recommended that you test your newly-added account (Example 1.8).
  • Click the 'Test Account Settings' button and you should see all items with green check marks.
  • Click the 'Close' button to close the test window.
  • Click 'OK' to save your settings.
